Privacy Policy

Who this is

This site, joereed.me, is operated personally by Joe Reed. Writing, frameworks, and routing to the brands I build. If you are reading this you are on a personal site, not a corporate entity.

Information I collect

I only collect what you give me directly. That means:

• Your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter or request a framework PDF
• Your first name, when you provide it (used to personalize email and PDF greetings)
• Answers you give to the Patterns diagnostic or the two-step routing questionnaire on this site, when you complete them
• Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for spam and abuse prevention

I do not buy lists. I do not scrape contact data. If you did not enter your email on this site, I do not have it.

How I use it

• To send you the newsletter you subscribed to
• To deliver framework PDFs, diagnostic reports, and any resource you requested
• To personalize framework output (LLM-assisted classification of your inputs, described below)
• To respond to you directly when you reply to an email from me

I do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Services I use

Running this site end to end depends on a small number of vendors. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs how they handle data passed through them.

• Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery. Your email address is stored there for delivery, bounce handling, and reply routing.
• Supabase — subscriber records, diagnostic responses, and framework request history. Hosted with row-level security enabled.
• Vercel — hosting, edge delivery, and server logs.
• Sanity — content management for essays, frameworks, and related entries. Stores no reader data.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymized traffic analytics. No PII is passed to GA.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — used to personalize framework output. Your answers to framework questions are sent for classification and a short tailored note is returned. Inputs are not used to train models.
• Zoho CRM — if you opt into a follow-up conversation, contact information is routed to Zoho for relationship tracking.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand which essays people actually read and which routing decisions are most common. GA4 collects anonymized, aggregate data about page views and session behavior. It does not receive your email or name. You can opt out of GA entirely by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses a small number of cookies for analytics (through GA4) and for remembering your progress through multi-step tools like the diagnostic. No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking.

Data security

All traffic is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Stored subscriber records are protected by database-level access controls on Supabase. I use strong, rotated credentials for every third-party vendor.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Ask what data I hold about you
• Ask me to correct or update it
• Ask me to delete it
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any email
• Opt out of analytics tracking (see above)

Residents of the EU/UK and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Email me to exercise any of these rights and I will respond within thirty days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under thirteen. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under thirteen.

Changes to this policy

If this policy materially changes, I will update the date at the top and, for material changes affecting current subscribers, send a short note by email. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
